SENCA Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that serves children from age 3 to 5 and their families.

Head Start is a child-focused program and has the overall goal of increasing school-readiness of young children in low-income families. Comprehensive child development, school readiness, and family support are provided through center-based options. The program involves the entire family. SENCA Head Start provides a multitude of opportunities for children & families that have a direct impact on their future success.

Requirements for the Program

Income eligibility for participation in the Head Start program is based on the Federal Family Income poverty guidelines. Guidelines allow for up to 10% of our enrollment to be above the poverty income guidelines. A minimum of 10% of the enrollment slots available are reserved for children with special needs that meet all other criteria. A small number of slots may be filled by children over the income guidelines.
