Dianna Hunter, Human Resource Director,(L) presents a twenty-five year service award to Angela K. Antholz, Deputy/Head Start Director, (R) at the 2020 Annual All Staff Meeting.
During the 2020 All Staff Meeting, that took place on Friday, September 4th at the Ag Building in Auburn, four of SENCA's staff were recognized as providing a combined 65 years of service and dedication. Ironically, of the fifty plus staff in attendance, all four of these individuals work within the Head Start program. In addition to Mrs. Antholz the following staff were acknowledged for their years of service:
Erin Flynn, Teacher and Center Liaison at Auburn Head Start, was recognized for five years of service.
Deb Hammon, Head Start Health and Safety Coordinator, was recognized for ten years of service.
Diana Bohlen, Head Start Family Service Advocate & Cook Aide at the Nebraska City Full-Day site, was recognized for twenty-five years of service.
The one day event also included an appreciation luncheon as a way of saying "Thank You" to all staff for their continued service throughout the year. During the morning session SENCA was honored to host motivational speaker, Aaron Davis, former Husker Football Player (#46) from the 1994 Championshp Team. Aaron's focus in his hour long presentation was on engagement, commitment, a winning attitude and "What is your 'Why'?
During the afternoon session, Dave Dechant, trainer from Best Care EAP (Employee Assistance Program), provided an hour long presentation entitled: Riding the Tiger: Serenity in the Age of Anxiety. Both presentations were selected to provide staff with ways to help cope with the increased stress and anxiety that has been attributed to the current pandemic situation.
Other events that took place throughout the day included a Health and Safety presentation with a focus on proper hand washing, personnel policy updates, the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan review, a presentation on becoming a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) voluneer and the Star Performer award. To close out the day an interactive question and answer session was held where staff were asked to write down questions regarding agency programs, services, policy and other items of interest, responses were provided by the Management Team.
